Automobile Test - Chassis and Body

Instron provides material testing solutions that meet the testing needs of various types of metallic materials used in vehicle bodies, in line with the trend of lightweight materials.

■ Bumper Impact Testing By analyzing the load-deformation curve during the testing process using a drop weight system and data collection capabilities, we evaluate how the bumper fails during an impact. ■ High Strain Rate Testing of Chassis and Body We provide a VHS system capable of conducting tests suitable for applications with maximum test speeds of up to 25 m/s for metals and high-performance alloys. ■ Tensile Testing of Composite Laminates Featuring precision grips that are accurately aligned with the axis and various testing fixtures that can be attached to the grips. ■ Post-Impact Compression Testing of Composite Laminates This allows for the verification of tolerance to damage in laminated products and elucidates the effects of various impact energies on residual strength.

Impact testing machine

Drop weight (drop) and pendulum impact testing machine for measuring the impact characteristics of finished products from materials.

We would like to introduce the "Impact Testing Machine" that we handle. Impact resistance is one of the most important characteristics that component designers should consider, and at the same time, it is the most difficult evaluation to quantify. Impact resistance is one of the key criteria for measuring service life and is also related to product safety and legal liability. Our company has many years of experience in designing impact testing systems that simulate actual impact conditions. 【Product Lineup】 ■ Drop Weight Tester (9400 Series) ■ Pendulum Tester (9000 Series) *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

"Charpy impact testing machine" supported by technology since the company's founding.

Customized strengths available to match the requested testing/research and development, ranging from basic manual and semi-automatic systems to those equipped with [automatic sample transport/automatic burr removal mechanisms/constant temperature chambers], etc.

This is a shock testing machine for metallic materials, designed to achieve a stable structure with sufficient rigidity, ensuring reliable and reproducible test results. The "semi-automatic" feature, which automatically lifts and releases the hammer, reduces the labor and time required for operation and contributes to safety. By combining it with the data processing device we provide, it can automatically import and save data (such as angle and absorbed energy) to a PC, further supporting compliance systems. It is used not only for testing but also for research. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. ▼ Instrumentation Software [CHARPAC]* Optional ▼ The Charpy impact testing machine comes with instrumentation software that allows users to view results in graphs and numerical values instead of just visually. The software is developed in-house and can be customized to meet customer needs for ease of use.

Impact Testing Machine IT (Charpy Izod Impact Testing Machine)

This is a testing machine that applies impact to a plastic specimen and determines the impact value from the energy of the pendulum required for destruction.

● It features a digital display, eliminating errors from wear loss of the discard needle and reading errors by the operator. ● By replacing the hammer and specimen support base (fixed base), it can accommodate Charpy impact tests, Izod impact tests, and tensile impact tests. ● Easy operation with a color LCD touch panel. It can display and save the average, maximum, minimum, coefficient of variation, and standard deviation of impact values. ● Measurement data can be saved to a PC. (*Requires optional dedicated data processing software. PC is optional.) ● Hammer release* can be operated with a button. There is no individual variation during hook release, improving reproducibility. (*Optional) ● Instrumentation system* is selectable. (*Optional. Only for Charpy impact tests and in-basis tensile impact tests.) ● Positioning support base* is selectable. It allows for easy and accurate setting of the specimen. (*Optional for Charpy impact tests.) ● Various safety covers* (with or without a top) are selectable. (*Optional)
